Overview

Hi, I’m Domenico Vitale, born and raised in Naples. On this self-guided tour I’ll take you through the areas that explain the city better than any brochure can. You’ll see major landmarks like Piazza del Gesù Nuovo, Via Toledo and the Spanish Quarters, but we’ll also step into older parts of the city where Naples first developed and where its traditions really started. As we walk, I’ll give you the historical background that ties everything together. You’ll learn how the city changed under the Greeks, the Spanish, the Bourbons and finally modern Italy, and why those layers still shape the streets you’re standing on today. We’ll talk about architecture, food culture, local habits and the things Neapolitans are genuinely proud of, from their churches to their football heroes. Some of the highlights of this walk: • Duomo di Napoli • Napoli Sotterranea (Underground Naples entrance area) • Banksy’s “Madonna with the Pistol” • Sansevero Chapel • The Nativity Street • Murales di Maradona • Palazzo Venezia This tour is for anyone who wants a simple, straightforward understanding of Naples: what you’re looking at, why it matters and how it all fits in the bigger picture. By the end you won’t just have photos of the city, you’ll actually know what you’re seeing and have a clearer sense of how Naples works in real life.

Beautiful self guided walk through Naples on my phone. The pacing was perfect for an afternoon and the little context links helped me see why the streets feel the way they do. I started near the Duomo and followed the route through the underground area and the Murales di Maradona, then popped into the Spanish Quarters at my own pace. It genuinely changed how I saw the city.

Perfect for a rainy Naples day. The route mixed major sights with quieter corners away from the crowds.

Mei Chen here and I was pleasantly surprised by how well the tour linked architecture to everyday life. The pace was relaxed and I found the short historical notes perfectly timed between locations. I paused near the Nativity Street to absorb the atmosphere and then continued to the Banksy piece and the Sansevero Chapel with renewed curiosity.

Fantastic self guided walk that felt tailor made for solo travelers. The moments by the Duomo and the Murales di Maradona were standout and the app made it easy to stay on track without feeling rushed. I kept my own pace and it still captured the city vibe.
